|Title||GS Caltex offers networking event for individual maintenance mechanics|
South Korea’s oil refiner GS Caltex Corp. on Sunday organized Kixx Mechanic Meetup where local auto maintenance mechanics met to share and develop maintenance best practices in the lubricating oil system as part of its efforts to promote its engine oil products.
The event held at Idea Factory in Gangnam, Seoul invited about 70 maintenance mechanics across the country to expert lectures and discussions on repair knowhow for the diesel particulate filter (DPF), a device designed to remove diesel particulate matter or soot from the exhaust gas of a diesel engine.
A GS Caltex official said the network program was created to help local auto maintenance mechanics who have few chances to learn about current technologies.
The off-line program, first of such in the industry, is an addition to the company’s knowledge-sharing initiatives to support for maintenance mechanics responsible for engine oil parts. The company has run digital communication and marketing activities to boost its image among local engine oil maintenance technicians since 2015.
Kixx Engine Oil App is one of its tools to reach out to them, which gives a mileage bonus for the use of GS Caltex products. A Maintenance Note is a newly added feature to the app to provide updated maintenance information, the company said.
